LSZ Impact - The Cause of Health
Monday, 3 February 2020 at Technopark Zurich
Life Science Zurich Impact - The Cause of Health is a one-day multi track meeting providing scientists from industry and academia a plattform to present their life science projects to potential collaboration partners as well as to investors. The conference is organized by the Life Science Zurich Business Network and supported by the University of Zurich, the Canton and City of Zirich, the Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences as well as the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich.
It is in human’s innate interest to stay healthy, both mentally and physically, as long as possible. However, medicine has largely focused on studying the cause of illness in search for cures. Although we have made dramatic advances in identifying specific causes of illness in individual patients, we know remarkably little how individuals stay healthy. Cause of health research differs from classical medical and clinical research since it relies on data from healthy individuals. They play a central role in this research approach since only they can aggregate their different data and authorize access for research. The conference will address the opportunities and challenges which the ‘Cause of Health’ approach will offer from an ethical, research, commercial and healthcare viewpoint.
The conference includes keynotes and parallel sessions as well as investor sessions in collaboration with Venturelab and 1:1 partnering meetings.
Parallel sessions on the 4 P’s of Health – Prevention, Prescription, Personalized and Participation – as well as an investor track will focus on topics such as nutrition & exercise, diagnosis and biomedical imaging, citizen science, digital health, ageing and health and regenerative medicine.
Currently we are looking for speaker who would like to present the early stage project with a translational link. For specific information see Call for Speakers LSZ Impact 2020 (PDF, 135 KB)
Are you a Swiss-based life sciences startup - in particular in the fields of predictive health, preventive health, personalized health, heathtech and wellbeing - interested in pitching to investors?
Life Sciences PostDoc Day was founded seven years ago to promote interactions among postdoctoral researchers and senior Ph.D. students of the ETH domains and to provide career-related advice and support. This year - for the second time - the Life Sciences PostDoc Day is co-organized by senior Ph.D. students and postdocs from University of Zurich, University Hospital Zurich and ETH Zurich, with the aim of stimulating scientific collaborations across all Zurich research institutions. We also encourage early career researchers from other Swiss and international universities to join us! This is an exciting event to see what your colleagues are doing and initiate collaborations that can push your research further.
The Life Sciences Innovation Day brings together leaders from academia and industry (e.g. academic/clinical scientists, biotech & pharma, CROs, SMEs, etc.) to discuss current challenges and develop new concepts for an ecosystem fostering open science and innovation. In this ecosystem of public-private partnerships, members from academia, industry, and society connect, share perspectives, and directly collaborate on high-impact research and development of projects with defined outcomes tangible in the public sphere.
