The FameLab science slam is an international competition for young researchers. It aims to find the new voices of science and engineering across the world.

FameLab encourages young scientists to inspire and excite public imagination with an enlightened vision of science. It searches for the new faces of science and supports these young scientists to develop ideas and presentation skills for a TV and non-specialist audience. The goal of the FameLab competition is to impress the judges by giving an entertaining and original 3-minute talk that is scientifically accurate but also engaging to a non-scientific audience.

The first FameLab slam took place in Switzerland in 2012. Since then, LSZ has been involved in organising the competition in Switzerland together with the University of Basel, CERN, the BioScience Network Lausanne and the British Council.
