International Forum on Women's Brain and Mental Health on «Sex & Gender Differences in Mental and Neurological Disease: The Gateway to Precision Medicine»

The Women's Brain Project (WBP) is thrilled to announce in collaboration with Life Science Zurich the International Forum on Women's Brain and Mental Health which is taking place on 8 & 9 June 2019 at the University of Zurich. We have an exiting scientific program taking shape. It includes innovative technologis/AI and experts from a range of disciplines, companies, and academic institutions that will be coming together, alongside patiens, unter the WBP banner.

A first-of-its-kind, premier life science conference with two back-to-back meetings connecting young professionals across academia, industry and decision-makers in science. The synergistic goals of this two-day conference were:

Life Sciences PostDoc Day (September 14)

To foster interactions among postdoctoral researchers and senior Ph.D. students in all life science fields working in Switzerland as well as to explore career perspectives..

Life Sciences Innovation Day (September 15)

To enhance the interactions between academia, industry, and society by bringing together all relevant stakeholder groups from universities, industry and medicine to discuss topics pertaining to new technologies, drug discovery, personalized medicine, and open science and innovation.



Translational Medicine in Zurich



LSZ Impact is the brand for events organized by the Life Science Zurich Business Network. The first LSZ Impact activity was on Translational Medicine in Zurich, which took place on 22 January 2018. This one-day multi-track meeting  provided scientists from academia and industry a platform to present their life sciences projects to potential collaboration partners as well as investors. 300 participants attended event clearly focused on early stage projects in pharma, biotech and medtech. The pilot conference concentrated on the fields of cancer, immunology & infection and neurosciences.

Jährliches Meeting der Life Sciences Switzerland LS2
Am 31. Januar und 1. Februar 2013 organisierte Life Science Zurich an der Universität Zürich das alljährliche Meeting der Life Sciences Switzerland LS2-Gesellschaft.
Unter dem Titel «(R)evolutions in Biology» konzentrierte sich das Meeting auf Innovationen und Durchbrüche in der Biologie. Zum ersten Mal wurden für Nachwuchsforschende drei Spezialanlässe angeboten.

Wie in früheren Jahren waren die Industrieausstellung und die Poster-Sessions wichtige Bestandteile der Konferenz.

USGEB 2011
Im Januar 2011 hat Life Science Zurich das USGEB-Meeting «Imaging Life» an der Universität Zürich durchgeführt. Das Meeting fokussierte auf die neusten Imaging Techniken.

Biodiversität - Eine Herausforderung des 21. Jahrhunderts
Im November 2010 fand an der ETH Zürich das Symposium «Biodiversität - Eine Herausforderung des 21. Jahrhunderts» statt. Der Anlass richtete sich in erster Linie an die interessierte Öffentlichkeit. Die Podiumsdiskussion am Schluss des Symposiums wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tages-Anzeiger durchgeführt.

Prion Diseases
Das Symposium «Prion Diseases» wurde 2007 zu Ehren von Professor Charles Weissmann veranstaltet und war deshalb dem Thema Prionenerkrankungen gewidmet. Die ausserordentlichen Leistungen von Professor Weissmann haben massgebend zur Prionenforschung in Zürich beigetragen.
