FameLab Switzerland

Sarah, Gwen & Abishek

The FameLab is an international science slam competition for young researchers, which has been established and is supported the British Council. FameLab aims to find the new voices of science and engineering across the world.

FameLab encourages young scientists to inspire and excite public imagination with an enlightened vision of science. It searches for the new faces of science and supports these young scientists to develop ideas and presentation skills for a TV and non-specialist audience. The goal of the FameLab competition is to impress the judges by giving an entertaining and original 3-minute talk that is scientifically accurate but also engaging to a non-scientific audience. The winner of the national competition represents his country in FameLab International at the Cheltenham Festival in June in England.

The first FameLab competition took place in Switzerland in 2012. Since then, LSZ has been involved in organising FameLab Switzerland with various partners.
